Financial Summary – 3rd Quarter – Fiscal Year 2024/2025 (July through March)

Financial Summary – 3rd Quarter – Fiscal Year 2024/2025 (July through March)

Through 3 quarters of our fiscal year the key financial highlights are:

— we sold less water, (lower “Usage Charges”) in Q3 than we did last year.  Consistent with trend, this year. Weather? Conservation? Elasticity to total bill?

  — we are under-collecting for Good Neighber, (high “Adjustments”).  Also consistent with trend.  Get more donors?  Reduce payouts?

  — we are funding capital accounts (higher “Transfers” to System Replacements).  As planned.

  — “Comms/IT” high due to annual renewal of billing software. (Fraction of cost of old provider.)

  — Essentially NO “Unscheduled Maint” this quarter.  (Great as this is key to ending the year well.)

  — Dave and Angie are doing an excellent job managing costs of Biz Ops and Sys Ops.

  — “Unscheduled Capital Project”, in Systems Replacements in new pump at springs.

  — In Capital Improvements, note that Interest Income ($2854) more than covered Interest Expense ($1879).  Love it.

  — Our funds increased >$47k during the quarter. (See “Surplus” under Total column.)

  — in the YTD vs Budget report (below) note: that billings for Capital Improvements are just 67% of plan.  This is the late implementation of the price increase and indicates we’ll collect less than expected, this year.  (As said before, its money members have been able to keep in their pockets…)

Those are the highlights!  Contact me with any questions. Todd
