FRIDAY LETTER DECEMBER 29, 2023

RECAP OF 2023 AT DOCKTON WATER.

2023 was a great year for Dockton water! We started engineering for relocating/upgrading a PRV (Pressure reducing valve) in lower Sandy Shores with the hopes of doing that project this summer. We had our water siloes professionally cleaned (This happens every 5 years) and the big one! We finished and got approved our small water System plan by the Department of Health. And another big one is the PFAS water testing, The Department of Health (D.O.H) required us to test for PFAS (Per-and Polyfluoroalkyl substances) at the springs water source for the first time. I received the test results yesterday and we have nondetectable amounts of PFAS in that water source!

Sandy Shores well is scheduled to be tested in April 2025 I am allowed to do it sooner, but because this test is so expensive $1,300.00, I will do this test this summer after the new budget has been approved.

We had our Sanitary survey performed by the D.O.H (This happens every five years) I look forward to these as I learn something new every time. They point out deficiencies in the system I might miss get me up to speed on rule changes that I wasn’t aware of and test my knowledge of the system. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME DOCKTON WATER HAS NOT HAD TO DO ANY CORRECTIONS!

FROM ALL OF US AT DOCKTON WATER HAVE A HAPPY SAFE AND PROSPURAS NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

See you next year!
