Overall, our old water company is in great shape. A few callouts from the reports:
— Water usage is WAY down. (Economists would take the lesson that water consumption IS elastic, at least at a certain price point…)
— Systems Operations costs are well under control. (Bravo Dave!)
— Big decrease in Business Ops is just a timing issue. We paid insurance in Q1, last year we paid in Q2.
I suspect we will end the year with more capital funds than we budgeted (which is a good thing, as Capital Improvements is still recovering from Filtration Plant.)
Our long term financial plan calls for price increases, again, next year. (In fact, every year.) But we’ll look at it once we have a budget and keep any increase to a minimum.
